Spin Zone / Australian forest fires - not global warming (surprise)

Informational -
Lots of people are pinning the Australian forest fires on global warming. Not surprisingly, there is more to the story.
It seems that for millennia, the aboriginal people have known the land there. When the grass got too stiff, when sticks crack a certain way, they knew that meant the possibility of fire was higher. So they executed low grade burns, things that didn't burn hot, but that cleared out brush. They were back burning.
Enter modern "scientific" Europeans. In order to control the fires, Austrailians have also been burning. But their problem has been control; their fires burn much higher and hotter and wind up drying out adjacent lands, meaning the overall quantity of fuel has actually increased. They have only just begun to understand how to execute controlled burns the right way so they can remove the fuel without overdoing it.
So...same as the cause in California, improper land management is the root cause because it's being done by people who only think they know the right policies.
This is why the MMGW crowd has a credibility problem. it's just one of many examples where they are either outright lying or ignorantly reporting facts that aren't true.
