... But you’re right, I’m not sure this country can recover from this. Now that the precedent has been set, no one will run for president or a high government office ever again who isn’t in with the Uniparty, for fear of literal prison under spurious made up charges. The weaponization of the “justice” system against anyone they don’t approve of is complete.

That's one of the long-term problems with the what the democrats have done.

There is a way to fight back, but the republicans will have to grow a set of balls.

In the red states the AG's and the DA's should start looking at these leftist whackos and empaneling grand juries.  Hit them back with indictment after indictment.   The democrat communist have set the precedent, so go for it.

BHO and Bill & Hillary need to be brought up on charges. Go after all of the Bidens.   Go after Schiff, Swalwell, Raskin, AOC, Pelosi and several others.

Fight back.  Fight fire with fire.

The FJB regime has hampered peace talks. This is big business.

Bingo.   The US has entered another "war is business".   .

Here is one reason the communist are so against Trump coming back into power.  He will disrupt their business.  Remember, as President, Trump was looking into the Biden family for their involvement in money laundering Ukraine, and they impeached Trump for questioning it.

Yes, the whole kangaroo court conviction is to try to keep Trump from the WH where he will put the interests of the American citizen before the interests of the elite ruling class and their corporate globalism and warmongering, and the interests of illegal aliens. It has never been more clear that the Democrats and establishment Republicans don’t give a shit about the average American citizen.

Rather than breaking the US apart, I'd rather see us re-affirm the Constitution where most of the power resides with the States.
Maybe even go further in limiting the power of the Feds to National Defense and certain infrastructure (think Interstate Highways and the power grid), and I'm not even sure about giving them control of the power grid.  Departments like the EPA and Education would be eliminated or reduced to a supporting role only and available to help the States "ON REQUEST" and without strings.  There are some problems that are too big for a state to tackle alone, or shouldn't have to tackle alone, like border protection and water rights.  Georgia should not be allowed to dam up the Chatahoochee and choke Alabama and Florida.

But I see the odds of either to be about the same as the odds of peace in the Middle East.  We will become a 2nd or 3rd rate county in a world ruled by strong, decisive leaders (eg: China, Russia or some other dictatorship).

That sounds kind of similar to what Styx said recently in the context of his “libertarianism”.  Many of the wackos in the capital L Libertarian Party are purists, like anarcho-capitalists, meaning there should be virtually no centralized government and things like roads and police protection should be completely privatized.  The U.S. federal government should be stripped down to next to nothing. Borders should be open, there should be no trade tariffs, no federal regulation of any kind on free markets, no drug laws, no abortion restrictions, etc.

Styx specified that this is NOT his ideology. He presented his preferred scenario which would be to cut the federal bureaucracy by half, lower taxes a great deal, stay out of foreign wars, defend the border, allow states to set their own abortion laws, in fact, return power back to states and local districts as much as possible.  This is more or less my philosophy as a small l (el) “libertarian”.

I agree that a return to constitutional originalism is preferred to a breakup and I also agree it is highly unlikely to happen and that our probable destiny is to become a third world country, only richer.  The problem is that we are now a duel-culture that has irreconcilable differences and we will continue to simmer with hatred under the boot of a permanent commie-fascist oligarchy.

He’s right, if we stop sending money the enemy will take over.  That’s why in addition to stopping the money there needs to be a simultaneous negotiation for peace in the context of massive U.S. strength and the implied threat therein.  There needs to be a leader capable of all those things. Biden ain’t it.  If we stop the money now, Russia will overrun Ukraine, all of it.

The FJB regime has hampered peace talks. This is big business.

Now, my personal opinion of that is, so what?  That’s not good but it’s better than continuing to break the U.S. economy and deplete our own military, and being entangled for another two decades and losing in the end anyway like Vietnam and Afghanistan, not to mention all the deaths and suffering on all sides for no damn good reason.

Or, vote for Trump and see if he can fix the situation.

mikey and jim have been outliers to this phenomenon as they gleefully cheer for anything fascinating and everything that limits, or destroys personal freedom. Jim will run along any second and demand a list of reasons that his posts prove my point, but that is just his only response to avoid meaningful discussion. Like mikey simply makes up the truth as he goes along, jim pretends he is being thoughtful and fair minded while he cheers for dictators and depots.

I'd like to make one distinction.   With Steingar, he fully admits and embraces his liberal beliefs, and for that I congratulate him.  He is a rarity as most liberals will hide behind such things as "moderate" or libertarian while pumping out one liberal talking point after another.

The world survived Ukraine being behind the iron curtain before and it will again, especially since it’s not exactly an iron curtain anymore.

Or, vote for Trump and see if he can fix the situation. If Jim agrees to that, I’m good with him. He can have his opinions.

I’m not going to judge Jim unless I find out he voted for Biden.  But you’re right, I’m not sure this country can recover from this.   Big campaign donors are being cautious with donations due to the fact the regime will use their DoJ to go after anyone the regime disapproves.  This is all part of the plan, to scare away supporters using the power of government.

The continued round up of J6 protestors is a show to the average citizen "you could be next", straight out of Stalin's Russia.

It is beyond me that neither Jonathan Turley, who sat in the courtroom, nor Alan Dershowitz are able to even cite the crimes for which he was convicted.

Secondly, as this case went on, and the judge clearly violated Trump’s rights, neither of these experts offered how to defeat this judge’s unconstitutional actions.  The ONLY solution is to go down the appeals route?  Fuck that shit.

Mark Levin outlined how the Trump Defense Team could accelerate this to the SC for review.

As has been previously mentioned, best to stay out of New York or to do any business with a New York based company.   The New York court system is now a banana republic and full blown lawfare.   NY is leading the way to the collapse of the US.

When it comes to Zelensky, you rarely speak the truth. Zelensky, Zelensky, and Zelensky are your main talking points. You constantly make claims that don't stand up under close scrutiny.

You know that's bullshit.  The only "truth" you want to hear is your version.   Like I've said, your mask is off now.  ;)

All because you need a reason to argue against spending our money to aid Ukraine.

The reasons are all there for everyone to see, except for the war mongering left of which you have become a part of.  You keep justifying pouring borrowed money down that shithole and handing the bill to the US taxpayers, which is pure lunacy.

I agree that we shouldn't fund some other country's defense. In the case of Ukraine that policy decision should have been made and communicated well before Russia invaded Ukraine.

So you agree we shouldn't fund other countries defense, but you are all in to funding Ukraine because we should have told them sooner we wouldn't fund them?

Once a commitment is made and support is later started then any cessation will be taken by an aggressor like Putin as confirmation that he need merely wait out his enemies in all future conflicts. Totalitarian states like China, Iran and North Korea will take away the same lesson.

This is more bullshit talking points to justify the continued borrowing and dumping money.   Ever hear of Vietnam, Iraq, Somalia, Afghanistan, Haiti and a few other shitholes?    Same excuse was given "If we stop sending money our enemies will take over".

Want to count up the trillions spent, but more importantly the American lives lost running these "wars for profit'?

The US is estimated to have about 750 military bases in 80 countries and there are a mix of implicit and explicit commitments the US has made regarding their use. The US needs to get out of them now - before any fighting starts. This article is worth reading on the problem:
https://thegunzone.com/how-many-us-military-bases-are-there-in-the-world/

You're now bouncing all over the place trying to get your mask back on and hoping no one notices.   There's a huge difference in having a forward base of operations to protect US interest versus dumping billions into a country under a dictator fighting a war he can't win.
