His problem is he's not reaching out to those who haven't read his book. People have short memories. They might not remember what he ran for in the primaries, but they will sure remember that he forgot about him in this campaign. Forgetting about your voters didn't work for Hillary, and it's not working for him.

True, if they haven’t read his book they have no idea who he is.  I don’t think young people even read any books anymore.

Just saw this article in the WSJ on J.D. Vance vs Tim Ryan:
Ohio Senate Race Pits Awkward Populist vs. Smooth Politico

Hopefully the link works. Basically sounds like Vance doesn't know how to run a campaign and either isn't getting good help or shunning it.

I don’t know. This article could be spinning it a bit, can’t tell if it’s biased.  It’s trying to paint him as a fumbling buffoon but putting it nicely, like, “Bless his heart.”  I haven’t been following this race and maybe don’t know what I’m talking about but I read Hillbilly Effigy and was impressed with his insight.  He very much connects with the economically depressed and that’s what’s really pissed off and motivated right now.  Maybe he doesn’t need fancy ads and smooth talk; gas and meat prices are speaking for him.  Turnout might be what matters.

Yay!  Free the furry!!  All is forgiven.  Hugs!

And with that I think I've gone a little too far......  Time to go flying and get a mind reset!

Hubby came home and told me he went flying with a friend today and didn’t tell me beforehand.  $100 hamburger at some airport cafe.  At least I got a lot of work done while he was out.

Furries are actually a kink.  I made it to middle age before I heard of that one.  I’m sure I’m not missing anything.

I'm guessing the blur only improves her looks.

blech

Honestly if there were a gun to my head and I were forced to choose, I’d rather have sex with her than him, and I am extremely straight, so that’s saying something.

He looks like a deranged Satan.  NOT Lucifer!

He really is quite repulsive.

No, not at all.  The "you" I was referring to was Peter, who I was wishing luck on his new forum endeavor.  Please don't ever leave!

Ah, that makes much more sense.  Was kind of wondering why I needed "luck" on the forum, but Peter having come up with it makes sense.  In my defense you were replying to my post.  ;D  And I don't want you to leave either!

When our middle granddaughter started scouting we bought boxes of boxes of cookies from her, then gave them away.

Now they're $6 a box with half as many cookies.

The ingredients are different too.  I well remember Thin Mints when I was 7 years old.  Not the same at all, now they are smaller and taste different.  Still okay but nothing like they used to be.

No, pilotsplace is equally lame, but that’s coming from a guy (me) who has accounts at all these forums and mostly just lurks. this new job Steinmetz and logajan started might be okay at some point if they gather a user base, but for now, it’s just the two of them circle jerking each other with Peter created half a dozen threads per minute trying to generate discussion. call it like I see it.

Brand new, been live all of what, 2 days?

Still there on BeechTalk.  I do wish you the best of luck on the new forum.

You sound like you think I’m leaving this one.

I was a Brownie and then a Girl Scout.  I got badges for nerdy stuff like photography, navigation and first aid.  We did some camping and outdoorsy stuff.  I got a badge for horseback riding.  In the end I lost interest.  I’m not a group kind of person, so never really fit in.

I got curious and looked up the badges today, to my horror.  “Science of Happiness”, “Eco Camper”,  “Social Butterfly” and “Special Agent”.  What the hell is that last one?  Learn how to raid your political opponents?

What I remember most fondly are the cookies.  I sold a lot of those and back then everybody loved them.  Nowadays I guess we can’t have little girls walking around town by themselves knocking on strangers’ doors.  The cookies aren’t as good as they were back then either.

Yabbut studies show that races aren’t won by who spends more money, but rather by who has more appeal.  Not counting cheating of course.  It’s AZ.  Have they fixed their problem?

It’s a “bourbon ball” and they’re yummy.
