And Trump supported the assault weapons ban, among other dumbass gun control positions in his past. So if your one unwavering condition is support for 2A, who do you choose, a guy who consistently advocated for gun control right up until he needed votes from the folks in his new political party, or a guy who consistently advocated for gun rights, and still does? Hmmm.
Since the latter has precisely zero chance of winning a single electoral vote, I guess my only choice is the former.

But it was by a black cop!
http://nypost.com/2016/09/21/protests-erupt-after-cop-fatally-shoots-armed-man-in-charlotte/

Do they really believe he was shot for being black, or is that just a convenient excuse to riot and loot?
Stealing big screen TVs from Walmart and destroying a few businesses should resolve the situation. At least that's what the BLM activists must think.

You didn't explain why you thought the article was a pile of crap.
I thought my derision of "opportunity hoarding" was self-explanatory. I guess it wasn't.

All I heard was excuses. I'm sick of excuses. There is no excuse for not making the most of your education, especially at Evanston High School. None.

You disagree with what? That some, but not all liberals, see racism in every interaction between the races?
I'm confident that it's most, not just some.

Read (in its entirety) and then discussion to follow. I'll wait.

I read the article.  What a pile of crap.

I grew up near Evanston, and was ran at an indoor track meet at Evanston High School every year of HS.  That school had better facilities - pool, indoor track, major per pupil spending, than we could have ever hoped to have at my Catholic high school.

We had a family friend who taught at a Catholic school, but quit to make more money at a public school in a middle class area.  When she had parent teacher conferences at the Catholic school, there were lines waiting to talk to the teachers.  Parents gave a shit.  In the public school, she got an average of two parents show up at parent teacher conferences. Two people, over the course of several hours.  Parents didn't give a shit.

How do you fix THAT problem?  Apparently, you claim some bullshit excuse like"Opportunity hoarding."

When are blacks going to stop making excuses for themselves?

Change that to "some" liberals and we're in agreement.
I disagree.  There is a reason why this racism argument has become so partisan and polarizing.  It shouldn't be partisan, but it is.

Then what about Gary Johnson? He looks like a staunch gun rights advocate. And as far as I can tell, he's waffled less than Trump over the years.
His running mate called AR-15s "weapons of mass destruction."  No thanks.

You're wrong, of course. Unless you're a single issue voter, voting is a process of understanding what a candidate's issues and proposals are, and determining whether enough good or potential good outweighs the bad or potential bad (and there is always some bad). You see it happening all over this board vis a vis Trump.

So, for example, you see Conservatives on this board opting to support Trump even though he has previously espoused, and is currently espousing, Liberal positions, including support of gun control. Are they advocating gun control by supporting Trump? How about his Liberal, unfunded tax break? You tell me!
Liberal tax break?  That hasn't existed since 1962 or so.

7884
Are you suggesting that voting for a candidate means advocating for everything they stand for or have proposed? Sucks for those Conservatives voting for Trump. Fucking Liberals!
Bob has a point.  Show me one major democratic candidate who wouldn't nominate a Supreme Court Justice that is in the mode of Kagan, Sotamyor, and the other two who voted to have the Second Amendment constitute a collective and not individual right.

Supporting any democrat candidate means you will be complicit in the eventual holding that the RKBA is a collective and therefore nonexistent individual right.

I find these incidents of anti-Semitism really disturbing, and knowing the history of the Holocaust, and prejudice against Jews here in the U.S., I just don't understand it.  What is behind it?  Is it Muslim/Islamic sympathy, but young people that don't know history, or know any better?  What are they trying to accomplish?
I agree.  It is troubling, and it seems like it's getting really bad.  I think the progressives somehow sympathize with the Palestinians, and after such indoctrination, especially of our youth, hatred of the Jews just follows.

Sorry, Reno Air Race Association, the body that puts on the races along with each of the race class organizations.  They used to support a great set of streaming video providers which was great for those of us who can't get to the races.

Ended up being a lot of action in Formula 1, Biplane, Sport, T-6 and Jet - Unlimited was ho-hum due to very low turnout.

Thanks.  I would love to be there for the T-6 races.  That sound must be awesome.

Bear in mind that my actual words were:
" may be entitled to at least a mild apology."

That was not exactly a demand for an abject apology and request for forgiveness.

But after months of being told that "but Hillary" is a lousy reason to vote for Trump, then finally he (and others) come around and say they "MAY" also vote for Trump, because he is not as bad as Hillary, then I at least expect some sort acknowledgement that I wasn't as stupid as they tried to make me feel.

And when I say "others", yes, I am including you.

I truly hope you're not holding your breath.

You should understand that we all hit our conversion at different times.  My disgust for Clinton exceeded my disgust for Trump when she completely skated from any charges related to her complete disregard for the law in handling top secret materials.  And if that wasn't enough, that bitch's Basket of Deplorables comment spoke about people like me.  So fuck her, she's going down, even if it means living with Trump for 4 years.

In other words, you may vote for Trump because he is not Hillary.

I of course, respect that.  But I think that some of us that came to the same conclusion earlier may be entitled to at least a mild apology.
Why are you entitled to an apology?

Tolerance means not discriminating against someone on the basis of ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, political affiliation, or other non-personal factors.  It does not mean disliking assholes.
In what world is THAT a definition of tolerance?  It is not a legal term, Doctor.

Tolerance is the ability or willingness to tolerate something, in particular the existence of opinions or behavior that one does not necessarily agree with, according to Oxford.

He was spot on with his use of the term. You wanted it to mean something that it does not mean.

So much for academics.

So the Reno Air Races are on this week, 2nd year now where RARA is not providing any streaming which sucks mighty for those of us who can't make it.

Sparse Unlimited participation this year, but huge turnout in Sport (41 pilots), Formula 1 and Biplane.

Highlight so far, to me, is Jeff LaVelle returned in his monster Glasair III and turned in a 404mph qualifying run for Sport, making him faster than all but the 4 fastest planes in Unlimited this year, and faster than half of the Jet class - a monumental achievement.

I have several friends flying Formula 1, Sport and Biplane class this year, and another friend is trying to goad me into picking up Formula 1 racing.....

www.reports.airrace.org for standings and results.

What is RARA?
