Thomas Sowell says in his book “Race and Culture” IIRC that today’s American blacks are waaaaay better off than if their ancestors had not been brought over. Africa is the last remaining third world continent. He’s allowed to say that; he’s black himself and unlike Obama, descended from slaves I’m sure (born in 1930 in North Carolina). There goes Sowell exercising his White Privilege.
I worked inside a public school system and I know this to be true. I was in engineering and construction. We had to take direction from a group called "programmers" which was a department consisting entirely of liberal females, and it was they who decided, along with the state education board, what courses would be taught and how buildings were to be designed to meet their curriculum plan. All this in accordance with federal mandates of course. Together it was 100% government control on all levels. Very little parents, no church, no business people. The public education system has become a defacto indoctrination camp for pro-big government progressive ideas.I’m so glad my wife, my daughter, and I each went through 12 years of catholic schools.
Study naval power. It cannot stand against a concerted attack from shore units. On the ground you have nearly unlimited missiles, planes and mortars. On top of that, they do not need to sink US warships to deny passage, they need to sink tankers.Study modern naval power. My high school classmate was the vice admiral in charge of the 5th fleet before he died in December 2018. The Fifth fleet covers the entire Middle East including the straight of Hormuz. I feel quite confident that a USN battle group could keep any straight open on this globe.
If they want to stop passage, they can. If we want to keep it open and safe, we cannot. That is control.
Heard this from an NPR guest this morning.I’m watching the DNC debate, and learning that there are a whole lot more rights to free shit than I ever knew. Smh.
Can anything that requires the time (money) and services of another human be considered a fundamental right?
Fuck their culture, so you have no clue what they're about then and furthermore, you don't care.Listen, dickhead, I’m not an idiot. I get their culture, and after 18 years of war I would say very smart people and the majority of Americans have learned some lessons the hard way about their culture.
You're like a bull blundering through the china shop, just smashing through things without understanding the outcome you're creating. You have no clue where this is going to come out. There is a decent chance Iran comes out of it with a bomb that they will use against us.
Sounds like you're conflating understanding and conforming.No. Bob Noel is spot on. Fuck their culture and what they respect. We will chose the time and place of our response, and kudos to Trump for not being baited by them.
The reason we understand them is because it's their culture and it isn't changing. Understanding them is required to deal with them. If you don't understand, then you're just blundering from action to action with only a random hope of a positive outcome.
You know this is the same thing the Leftists say about the Right, don't you? What's wrong with Conservatives, they need to be like us and then we'll all get along?
And the president chooses not to act.I disagree. I’m sure it was no accident that our aircraft were enroute, and then recalled. That’s called a show of force. They know we are capable of crippling them, but didn’t need to give Iran (and their accomplices in the UN) an excuse to escalate.
Not a good thing. Iranians are over there thumping their chests and cheering each other how they're able to say screw America and next time they'll get worse. They didn't make a mistake, they did this intentionally and Trump is being a pussy.
It stays!!Excellent, and nice that it was 7-2. Too bad Ruthie Buzzy and The Wise Latina think that the First Amendment guarantees freedom FROM religion. It should have been 9-0.

The media makes a big deal out of Trump saying he would accept dirt, and they ignore the fact that Hillary CREATED FAKE DIRT and used it to get FISA warrants to spy on American citizens. Yet the media makes a big deal out of a sentence Trump said with no actual action. Unbelievable.
The media presents reality upside down, it’s like a photographic negative. Example, using the fake made up Russia collusion story, they claim Trump is putting foreign interests above American. The reality is exactly the reverse; Trump is putting American interests first, more so than any other President in decades.
I guess it depends on who you listen to, or read. NPR and PBS certainly don't imply that, not as a rule, anyway.Azure, just how many “white nationalist hate groups” are there that “claim Trump’s victory as a plus for their cause”?
Certainly hate groups are a minority in this country. I never said otherwise. But white nationalist hate groups have always tried to claim Trump's victory as a plus for their cause, and Trump has never been very quick to disown them. That is my main point, that he doesn't seem to see moral leadership on issues like that as important. It's a blind spot of his that imo weakens his presidency.
We've seen other moral weak spots in his character recently, such as his saying (at first) that he would accept dirt on a political opponent from a foreign national. Widely interpreted as the Prez saying that of course he'd break the rules to win, who wouldn't? I'm not sure whether he really meant what his later statements said, but it doesn't matter.
Trump may or may not be a good CEO for the country, but as a moral leader, he sucks. I would think conservatives would be concerned about that.
Compare today's pussified young generation, too delicate to play dodgeball, too fragile to handle listening to a conservative speaker, terrified of global warming yet completely oblivious to the dangers of Islamofascism (they don't remember 9/11), compare them to the young men and women of WWII, and The Great War, generations willing to give their lives to keep their country safe and to defend the innocent abroad.I have a friend and colleague in another office that I converse with occasionally. Last Thursday she was talking about the meltdown her son was having about a girlfriend breakup and the stresses of graduating from high school and going to college in a few months.
It is reversing the progress we have made for 150 years. What's best for cultures is to merge, and become one. And no it does not mean blacks should all become "oreos" and integrate into white culture. It works both ways. Look at jazz for example, and the blues and how that has influenced American art.Sadly, I firmly believe that this reversal began on January 20, 2009.
When you insist on "preserving" minority ethnicities separately, as opposed to this natural merging and blending, you create friction and inevitable conflict. It's what humans do.
Thank god we don't have anything like that here, just one commencement ceremony, though the Corps students have their own ceremonies alongside the main one. But considering how widespread it is, according to the article, I'm kind of surprised we don't.I agree with Anthony. Has the left lost their minds? In what world that we are trying to improve would diversity and EXCLUSION fit?
Not going to give them any ideas. Our current administration is left-leaning enough that it will probably come anyway, eventually.
