Pilot Zone / Getting a call sign

Sorry about the aviation related thread here in the zone,
But how does one get a call sign?
I plan to fly to Canada this fall so I applied or an RR (Restricted Radiotelephone License). I thought I would be assigned a call sign, but I wasn't.
Also, how do you get a radio station license for the plane? I went to the site to apply, but it pops up a PDF, but has no directions on where to send it. I finally figured out how to edit and sign the PDF online, but when I try to send it, it promtps me for an Adobe username and password. I happen to have that so I entered that and tried again to submit, but it merely creates a link that I can provide to someone else to "share" the document.
Perhaps I am too stupid to fly to Canada, but I can't figure this shit out.

The Libertarian party has again selected Gary Johnson as their nominee.
With all the negatives of the current crop of nominees, does anyone think Johnson has an actual chance to win?
I for one would vote for him if I didn't see it as helping Hillary. But if enough Democrats are discouraged enough with Hillary to vote for Johnson, and if he actually has a chance, I would vote for him.

I have sent this question to Foreflight, but in the meantime,
I have added the Canadian Subscription to my account. I downloaded the Canadian charts but I was still unable to see the Canadian charts (vfr or lowifr). I finally figured out that I had to go into map options and select the Canadian charts.
But then I couldn't see the US charts! 
I want to plan a flight from Florida, to, through and around Canada and it would be much easier if I could have both charts visible at once. Is there something I am missing?
To keep this "spin zone" oriented, if Hillary becomes President, I may want to find an English speaking escape.
(That's a joke son, a joke I tell ya).
