Well then why do I feel like I am being vilified because I don't swallow the whole hoax thing?  I made it clear that I don't think the lock downs are appropriate.  I made it clear that I don't believe in forced vaccinations.  But that doesn't mean I don't believe in some precautionary measures.

People whine that Covid vaccinations are useless or unnecessary, or even counter productive, but then they point out that the flu is partially contained because of vaccinations.

How can someone say that Covid is no worse than the flu because 34,000 people died from flu in a year?  Perhaps 600,000 Covid deaths are inflated, but I don't think so based on the numbers that I have personally witnessed.  600,00 deaths is much worse than 34,000 deaths.

On another board (a liberal board) I am vilified because I don't buy into all the bullshit.  Here, I am vilified because I don't buy into all the denial.  If everyone on both sides think I am wrong, then I think I must be right.

In a previous post I clearly stated that if you feel at risk take the necessary precautions including quarantine, masks,  whatever.   Did I not?  My whole problem is with the lock down and other government/Corporate mandates that effect those not at statistically significant risks.  Read my posts please.

Health care should be a personal choice not a mandate.  You seem to not see the difference.  If I don't wear a mask I can't hurt the quarantined, vaccinated, masked or those that hide under their beds.  I just want others in power to stop telling me what to fucking do.  Get it?

This is clearly an elitist power play and it's scary because they're winning and succeeding.

Yeah The Pilots Place  SUCKS.  It is even worse than POA which is saying a lot.

True, but if you post COVID numbers that are bad, people here  just say they don't believe them,

I don't care if anyone else on this board takes this as seriously as I do.  I have seen the pain, misery and death this causes up close and personally.  I believe what I see.

And as for your numbers, 500,000 hospitalized from flu.  600,000 died from Covid.

34,000 vs 600,000 dead is a big difference.  Of course, people on this board think a handful of vaccine reactions is reason to avoid a disease that kills many many more than that.

I believe it can be a very serious disease. But I don’t trust the official numbers because I feel deceived and lied to on many levels. But I know the disease kills. I just don’t know if the case numbers are what we are being told or if all covid deaths are really covid, but I certainly believe some are.

Up until just a few years ago, YES, they were incapable of getting elected.LBJ was white and he had a lot to do with it, as did almost every white "liberal" that passed laws and insisted that blacks couldn't take care of themselves.
Oh please. The first black elected to Congress was a Republican from Mississippi in 1869. The black congressional caucus was founded by 13 black congressmen in 1971 - 50 YEARS AGO.

I don’t care what white liberals did in the 1960s. I care that a black woman, TODAY, said that having a father in the house is white privilege.  Values aren’t privilege.  Just like you can’t fix stupid, I as a white man can’t fix black culture.

Remember, Florida is a very red state (DeSantis is our governor).  If anything they would under report cases, although there is the case to be made that some of the tests are inaccurate.  And the fact that I personally know so many people that have been hospitalized and even a couple that died tells me this is serious.  In 69 years, I don't recall ever knowing anyone that was hospitalize for the flu, much less died from it.

You might find a different viewpoint from the families of the 34000+ people who died from the flu during the 2018-2019 flu season (from the CDC website)

You might find a different viewpoint from the families of the almost 500,000 people who were hospitalized because of the flu during the 2018-2019 flu season (from the CDC website)

and remember, the most vulnerable people generally had a flu vaccination.

extrapolating from personal experience doesn't help much...

Again, anyone who believes the fedgov or the DCP actually gives a shit about covid just look at the southern border.  Tells you all you need to know.

20%+ coming in are covid, and the US fedgov is busing and flying them all over the country.  People sick with covid are being placed on airliners with healthy people.   People sick with covid are being dumped into unsuspecting communities.

Xiden wants travelers flying into the US to have vaccine papers, but unknown individuals can walk across our southern border with no identification and no proof of vaccine.   How fuckin' moronic.
I know this is a wild conspiracy theory, and I haven’t talked to Alex Jones about it yet, but wouldn’t it be unbelievable if Biden purposefully shipped illegal immigrants, including those with Covid, to primarily red states, so their governors get the blame for a rise in Covid cases?

Phew. I’m sure glad I’m not a conspiracy theorist. That’s CRAZY TALK.

Today, between Florida and South Dakota - yes, there's a big variance, right now Florida is getting 127 cases per day.  9 months ago, South Dakota was the bad spot.  It changes with each wave.

But none of that really matters.  If you choose to not get vaccinated, then you're taking your chances with the virus and that's great - freedom.  If you are vaccinated, then the virus has ceased to be a real threat to your health and you only have to worry about normal stuff

I will say that if there are substantial long term issues with the vaccine, then we're all screwed because over half the country is vaccinated now.

Here is the truth and it’s becoming pretty clearly documented:

Being vaccinated protects you as an individual at the expense of society, therefore it is a selfish act.

We know the following facts, there are individual exceptions, but generally these facts are true:

1. Being vaccinated does not protect you from getting the virus
2. Being vaccinated does mean you will get a much milder case
3. Less sick people, or people with no symptoms, are more likely to go out among the public
4. Very sick people tend to stay home
5. Therefore the people most spreading the virus are the vaccinated ones, perpetuating the pandemic

There are many people who cannot be vaccinated due to contraindications. These people are endangered not by other unvaccinated people, but by vaccinated people for the reasons stated above.

Therefore, getting vaccinated protects you, but not others. It is therefore a selfish act, exact opposite of the propaganda being forced down our throats.

Kath is the SJW on the MC.

Why they think they need a radical leftist academic on the MC is beyond me.
Did she fill the slot of the Dragon Lady who retired?

My 92 year old aunt had it recently.  She's a lifelong smoker.  Mild cough and headache.   She's fine now.

Know several people that had it at work.   No severe nor even moderate health issues from it.  A big nothing.

Lower life expectancy compared to before covid.  For example in 2019 the life expectancy for men was 76.3.  Given the current attitude toward the vaccines, in the future I expect life expectancy will be lower because a great number of people will not get vaccinated and will therefore die earlier than 76 when they catch covid.  The newer variants are much more virulent and transmissible than the flu and future elderly people who did not have the virus when they were younger and do not get the vaccine will die.
Maybe, but correlation is not causality.  The average height of Americans has been declining steadily.  But it's primarily due to the huge influx of generally shorter people from south of the border.  While life expectancy may indeed be shorter (for the US or for the world?), can we attribute it entirely to covid?  Maybe again people from south of the border don't live as long and this is driving down the average?  The average complexion of Americans is getting darker.  Must be because of global warming.

This statement is uninformed BS. The effectiveness of the vaccine HAS been proven and is constantly being studied.

You serious Clark?

It takes YEARS to do clinical trials, and that's after YEARS of animal studies, which don't start until after the lab work has been done.

I get the idea N7 thinks you vote Democrat but I get the idea you do not. I could be wrong on both counts.

I clearly remember the self anointed smartest guy in the room urging everyone here to vote for the “moderate” democrat to avoid having Donald Trump win.

Now he’s just another fake pretending to be a moderate.

I don't believe N7 thinks too much.  He has a repertoire of curse words and adjectives for liberals, but he just strings them together without thinking.

But sometimes, I think he believes that I vote Democrat too because I don't tow the party line in every instance.

and what party is that?  if you don't mind me asking...

and is towing the party line different to toeing the party line?   (asking just for Rush's benefit)   ;D ;D ;D ;D

I doubt he will die, but he is now ready to get the vaccine.

He doesn't need it now.

Those aren't the choices.  Whatever issues might exist with the vaccine aren't readily apparent right now.

It looks like we'll never get rid of the virus, so we'll be living with it forever.  The choice is probably going to be something like "get sick/get the vaccine or die early".  As you get older, the virus plus comorbidities will be more deadly and I expect we will see a lower life expectancy in the future.

Lower life expectancy due to covid? I doubt it. We don’t even really know the true death rate, because the statistics still don’t distinguish between dying OF covid and dying WITH covid.
