Spin Zone / Re: War in the Middle East?
« on: May 16, 2018, 06:16:09 AM »
Newsflash - the vast, vast majority of liberals have little opinion on Israel, and certainly don't care enough to hate them. Most of the rest of them like Israel.

The number of liberals who are politically savvy enough to tow some supposed party-line hatred of Israel is minuscule.

I hope that is true, just like it is true that most conservatives are not gap toothed hillbillies, but the liberal image of all conservatives is exactly that. This country has split into two camps growing wider apart by the hour, and each camp is painting the other as ever more some made up Face of Evil. The reality is that only a few on each side are ideological fanatics, most don't care much about politics or just blindly swallow their camp's ideas. To the extent liberals hate Israel seems to me just the outcome of the latter: a very skewed media portrayal of Israel as some oppressor of the poor disadvantaged Arabs, a lack of knowledge of their history as I think invflatspin pointed out. If you go back thousands of years you will find the roots of the desert nomads - they were pushed out of the fertile coastal regions by pure OVERPOPULATION (relative to that day's agricultural technology) and evolved into their own culture. This is neither good nor bad, it is just what it is no more no less. But it does result in tension between the descendants of both groups with the nomadic one having no more claim over any particular territory because we are talking about far more than just today's Israel. To say they deserve Israel would be like saying today's descendants of the mid 19th century immigrants fleeing the Irish potato famine deserve property claims in today's state of Ireland. Nuts! The reality is that the best rational choice for these people is to assimilate into the modern construct such as it exists. Those who refuse and choose terrorist "jihad" instead only screw themselves in the process - the Stone Age behavior and morality of that culture, which served them well in harsh desert conditions, will never be tolerated in today's modern world.

Trump is signaling, just like Reagan did that he just may be crazy enough to destroy their worthless asses.

That would fine with me...

Spin Zone / Re: John McCain

McCain is a bitter old, spiteful, vengeful man.  Ever since the election, McCain has been worse than the Democrats.  He has voted against everything Trump has supported.  He leaked documents and now he invites Obama to speak at his funeral (which can't come soon enough for me) but he specified he doesn't want Trump to attend.  Now he is opposing Gina Haspel out of spite for Trump.  At least Democrat vote against Trump out of some sort of warped political motive.  McCain does it out of hate and spite.

I have never liked the man,and I like him even less now.

Never more than a generation away and this is how easy it is to lose it.

America wouldn't have been dismantled and forever destroyed if Hillary had been elected.

Not sure I agree with that.  Obama set a dangerous precedent with his use of executive orders to make changes to agency rules and I believe Hillary would have accelerated it...in fact, I expect the next Democrat president to do it more than Obama did.  The issue is that whatever changes are made become the rule of law until they are later changed (presumably under a different president).  Obama could have ordered the ATF to deem any semi-automatic rifle capable of holding more than 5 rounds to be a military weapon and that would have started a chain of events that would have resulted in the rule of law outlawing nearly every hunting rifle.  The order would have been implemented through the administrative rules making process and eventually turned into a rule.  The only recourse of this is for the Congress to countermand the president's directive or a legal challenge in a left slanted legal system.

Personally I believe that sometime in the next 20-30 years Congress will have to revoke the power of agencies to make their own rules, exactly because of how Obama used executive orders to do that.  But will that really get better when Congress has to pass laws to change agency rules?  The Administrative Procedures Act was enacted because Congress could not keep up with the pace of changes that needed to be made in 1946, what hope do they have of doing it now?

Your argument is that Trump is fighting the good fight and everyone else is just standing in his way? I hope you can recognize that some, and certainly not all, of the problems inside the White House are Trump's own doing through his tweets, his changing statements on subjects, etc.

That is not my argument at all.  Trump is a pompous asshole that does bring a lot of shit down on himself.  But he also has a good idea of how to improve our economy and our national security, and he is not afraid to stand up to adversaries, and he is not afraid to negotiate.  But because the Democrats don't like his personality they are unwilling to allow him to accomplish anything whether it is good for the country or not.  That may be current day politics, but is sucks.  It hasn't always been like that.  Even the framers of the Constitution negotiated and compromised and came away stronger than they were.  Dems won't allow that to happen today.

Spin Zone / Re: Ultimate lib hypocrisy on display

Businesses just pass through taxes to the consumer anyway.  I have no problem when a business legally avoids more taxes.  I do have a problem when a corporation promotes itself as a Social Justice crusader, like Starbucks, Amazon, and all the Silicon Valley tech companies then abuse their employees, and be hypocrites like most liberal/progressives.

It is always do as I say, not as I do.

There are always TWO kinds of democrats.

ONE: The crazy as a bedbug, stupid as a pet rock (like the perfessor), always lecturing people but never actually doing anything because that requires more than virtue signaling.

TWO: The ones who live off the tax code, avoiding taxes by setting up dummy corporations, family 'charitable' foundations and / or pretending to be all in on the fake mmgw scam, then buying multi-million dollar beach front homes, right where they claimed the rising tide would wipe out millions of people and living in energy sucking houses that use many times the electricity of any normal home and they always ride in private jets that spew fluorocarbons into the atmosphere at very high levels.

They're ALWAYS lying, always hypocrites and always living off the backs of the taxpayer just like the welfare queens and their worthless cycle of dependency.

Two guys in my neighborhood just bought new Ford trucks. One told me the dealer said 85% of his sales are trucks. Personally, I feel encouraged about our country when people, especially men, buy trucks. The spindly man-bun gammas in their Priuses creep me out.

Go after me, libs! I don't care!

Well they kind of did, but the School District, FBI, and Local Police CHOSE to ignore all of it.  This is willful negligence on their part, and there should be prosecutions, firings, and jail time.  In addition, the Local Police also CHOSE not to enter the building when they knew shooting were taking place.

IIRC the mayor specifically ordered the pile of dog shit sheriff to avoid arrests of high school kids to avoid the bad publicity.

Typical democrat bullshit that nobody wants to address.

If only they had spent that much time on the kid that did shoot up the school.

Pilot Zone / Re: Southwest 1380

I had just delivered a diatribe to my lady students that more them should become pilots (only 6% of pilots are female).  They're all sharp as tacks, and I think they'll all do really well, so they should address this.

Lo and behold, the pilot with nerves of steel who landed the crippled airliner was a woman.

It doesn't take nerves of steel to land a twin OEI. The decompression, except for the one unfortunate victim, was almost incidental since the flight wouldn't have continued to the destination anyway. The descent was almost leisurely. The PIC being female added nor subtracted anything material and was hardly "heroic." That's what they are trained to do.

That being said, she is certainly a role model for young females (I think the word "women" may trigger someone.)

Boo hoo. Sounds like people who move next to an airport and complain about the noise. They can live elsewhere if representation in
Congress is so important.

If they cared about representation, they would promote getting absorbed by Maryland or Virginia.

What they want is to have that tiny 64 square miles have two senators to disproportionately sway the US Senate to the democrats.

Answer:  no.

The idea that a record low unemployment number
coupled with reduced dependence on social WellCare, stock market gains that wiped out the obama endused recession, serious tax cuts, reduced federal employees (parasites) and tariff relief is ineffective to progressive snowflake pilots...

I am starting to hate Silicon Valley.  Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Amazon, MSN, Google, Yahoo, and the rest of these Far Left activists.  Zuckerberg admitted their bias, and yes they did help Obama, and that was OK to the Media, of course.  Morons.

Racist!
