WASHINGTON — John Kerry’s bid to save one of his most significant accomplishments as secretary of state took him to New York on a Sunday afternoon two weeks ago, where, more than a year after he left office, he engaged in some unusual shadow diplomacy with a top-ranking Iranian official.

He sat down at the United Nations with Foreign Minister Javad Zarif to discuss ways of preserving the pact limiting Iran’s nuclear weapons program. It was the second time in about two months that the two had met to strategize over salvaging a deal they spent years negotiating during the Obama administration, according to a person briefed on the meetings.

With the Iran deal facing its gravest threat since it was signed in 2015, Kerry has been on an aggressive yet stealthy mission to preserve it, using his deep lists of contacts gleaned during his time as the top US diplomat to try to apply pressure on the Trump administration from the outside. President Trump, who has consistently criticized the pact and campaigned in 2016 on scuttling it, faces a May 12 deadline to decide whether to continue abiding by its terms.

So about a year and a half ago we had mouth foaming liberal progressives going on and on about how Gen Flynn violated the Logan Act with no actual proof to back it up.

Yet now we have a former SOS doing exactly that. How is it in the interest of the US for Kerry to be negotiating and attempting to undermine US policy?

 Special Counsel????

Absolutely I saw that it was 8 days ago. However this is still a HOT topic but my feed was crowded with Celebrities, Airline scandal, Comey, who died...but nothing about Syria who (allegedly) was just bombed a week ago. Are we, the US populace to forget about it (not be reminded)?

You DO realize this is April and NOT February, right?  :o

I am starting to hate Silicon Valley.  Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Amazon, MSN, Google, Yahoo, and the rest of these Far Left activists.  Zuckerberg admitted their bias, and yes they did help Obama, and that was OK to the Media, of course.  Morons.

Racist!

Your in laws are just poor losers, and the grapes taste sour to them.  If Hillary had won the Electoral College, and thus the Presidency, and Trump the Popular Vote, they would be extolling the virtues of our system that's been in place, and worked for hundreds of years.

They can make up excuses all they want, but what they are advocating is DEMOCRAT MOB RULE due to the urbanization of America.  The huge metro areas (cities, and suburbs) across the nation are solidly BLUE now.  They control entire states like CA, NY, NJ, MD, IL, MA, CT, RI, PA, etc.  It is a disturbing trend, and could mean the end of the two party system in the U.S.

The fact that Trump was elected, and many Governors, and State legislators are Republican shows the resiliency of those voters outside of metro areas.  But, I fear it can not be sustained.

The progressives are tweaking and perfecting their "work around" of the electoral college.  They just weaponize various government agencies with ideological appointees that can't be fired, use the resources of the DoJ and the FBI for campaign opposition research, and for other government officials, such as SC justices and such that don't tow their line and do what they're told, they remind them about the files they have on them and how unfortunate it would be if those files were "leaked" to their MSM.

As much of the national security establishment pushes back against President Donald Trump’s calls for a swift withdrawal from Syria, officials are again leaking details of the president’s classified meetings to the media.

The president recently stated that the U.S. will be leaving Syria “very soon,” but the Pentagon, State Department, and CIA reportedly all support long-term involvement in Syria, with senior leadership expressing concerns about the ramifications of a hasty withdrawal from the war-torn country. The president became “testy” and signaled “his patience is running out” on the Syria issue during a meeting with the National Security Council at the White House Tuesday, CNN and The Associated Press, citing officials familiar with the situation but not “authorized” to discuss it, reported.

Everyone who was in that meeting should be sequestered and put under investigation by the DoJ.   I welcome John Bolton's arrival as NSA to the WH, because Bolton will not tolerate this treasonous crap.

I see it as this, a setup.

Ryan and McConnell, along with their establishment breathern concocted this bill behind closed doors.  They know full well it goes against everything and then they bring this out at the last minute and pull an Obamacare style vote on it (We need to vote on this to see what's in it).   No debates, no negotiations, ramrod it through.

Trump is in a corner, does he veto it, shut down the government and allow the MSM and the establishment with their progressive friends to beat him about the head with it, or go with it.

Ryan/McConnell knows this won't set well with Trump's base, and this may very well be the catalyst they have been looking for to begin to get him out of office.

Yep, I wish he would have vetoed it.  Hopefully the sane members who voted against it will now push for reconciliation and pull some of the fangs out.  But with that asswipe Ryan and Mr. Turtle in charge, they will keep that off the floor.

The desperation of the establishment to get Trump out of office is growing. He is disrupting their swamp and they will not have that.

"Progressive" is just a cloak for "communist".

Calling themselves communist has bad perception to it, so they use "progressive" because it evokes something positive.

Why Trump installed an embedded swamp dweller as AG, when that person is the primary swamp-plug-puller, is beyond me.

I can answer that.  Trump is not a politician by nature, he's a businessman.  When Trump started his presidential campaign he was immediately alienated by the establishment and shunned.

Sessions is a seasoned politician and proud member of the swamp.  He knows (and knew) what was going on in the background.  He saw an opportunity to befriend Trump and align himself to a cabinet position.  The swamp also realized it would be handy to have one of their own in the inner circle. So he backed Trump, befriended him and got his AG appointment. At this point Trump had not learned "If you want a friend in Washington, get a dog".

So far that has worked well for the swamp, because (a) Sessions can't be fired.  If Trump tries to remove him the swamp will circle the wagons and start impeachment. (b) Sessions is letting Rosenstein run the DoJ and more importantly, the Mueller Investigation.  Sessions quickly recused himself thus allowing Rosenstein full control.  Rosenstein is up to his eyeballs in these scandals, so who better to oversee the investigation?

All Sessions has to do is give a few "tough talks" about "getting to the bottom of this".  His letting the IG investigate is total bullshit and he knows it, the IG doesn't have the power to convene a grand jury and seek indictments. Sessions has the authority to appoint a Special Prosecutor and go after these people.  A huge amount of evidence has already been gathered and even Mueller, under law, would have to cooperate with the Special Council in evidence sharing.

I've said this before, we are witnessing probably the biggest government scandal of our lifetimes, a scandal that could bring down the top of the DoJ and the FBI and could finally see the Clinton's answer to many of their crimes.  It would also envelop the Clinton inner circle and the DNC as well.

Spin Zone / Julian Assange’s President’s Day Dig At Hillary

Here's a little fun today.  Thanks Julian!

Julian Assange took a totally unnecessary dig at Hillary Clinton on President’s Day.

The WikiLeaks founder quoted a now-infamous tweet from the former Democratic presidential nominee, wishing a “future president” — herself — a happy birthday, but he added two words and a hashtag.
