Spin Zone / Re: Stopped for Walking While Black

Political polarization sells, so that's what is produced instead ethical journalism.

The dangerous part isn't the amount of political editorial, but rather, that the line between news and editorial has faded. This is the expectation now—so much so that any outlet not clearly in a person's camp, is accused of being in the other. Political zealots won't even entertain the idea that a source is neutral.

I am tired of being sold fake controversy.  The media creates its own "news" through unethical means, and ommission of the truth.

Not Baptist; it was United Church of Christ (UCC) he claims to be.

It is very obvious both Michelle and the Pres are devout America haters, especially "white" America which drives a lot of his views, and policies.  Rev. Wright, as well as many others did a good job of indoctrinating them.

I thought Bridge of Spies was very well done.  It was interesting to see the beginnings of the U2 mission.  A pilot once told me he knew a U2 pilot who fell asleep at cruise.  When he woke up, the plane had gently landed itself in a field.

I'd like to see that movie.  I'm a big Cold War fan.  I wonder how the pilot explained that one.

I think there was a lot done by NACA before NASA.

I don't know, John.  The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and thus the GOP Establishment, are all supportive of "Immigration Reform" a/k/a amnesty.

This is a big issued dividing the Republican Party.  The establishment wants illegal immigration for cheap labor, and also wants to continue the big government, deficit spending almost in lock step with the Democrats.  They talk a good game, but in the end support the status quo.  The conservative group of Republicans want to blow it up, and actually be conservative.  This includes fiscal responsibility, and closed borders.  We'll see who wins.

In addition to the stupid degrees, kids are taking six years to complete college.  I don't understand.  It used to be four and out!

This is a huge problem.  People need to be trained more in the TRADES, and to actually make stuff.  "Minority Women, and Transgender Studies" will get you a job at McDonalds, MAYBE.

When I have more time I might share a little more from my experience over the past 3 years.

'Gimp

I hope so!  I think there is a lot of misinformation about China out there, and it would be good to get personal info.

Agreed. But she's much easier on the eyes than O'Reilly.  ;)

No question.  Fox has the best looking women in the news/opinion business.

When Obama gave NASA a new mandate to make Muslim countries feel good about their contributions to science he created another reason that we don't have a manned space program.

NASA's mandate should be related to space and aeronautics.

Agreed.  He also made man made climate change a mission also.  The guy is obsessed with MMCC, and government solutions (taxes, regs, etc).

I didn't know that international refugees could vote in 12 months.  Taught me something new. (sarcasm, y/n?)

I didn't know dead people could vote, or people could vote multiple times, but they do.   ;)

I think Megan Kelly should be pushing O'Reilly out of his time slot (and perhaps off the air) within the next couple of years.

Well, he's got to retire at some point also.  I lost a bit of respect for Megan Kelly in the way she conducted herself during the debate.  I getting very tired of "gotcha" politics.

My state, PA has already embraced the Obama scheme as Gov. Tom Wolf is an ultra progressive Obama clone.  AFAIK, only two states so far have agreed to take the terrorists, I mean refugees in.

Except we kinda need the oil. Look at other areas of the world where there is violence, do we do anything? No, there are no interests to protect.

We wounldn't need the oil if we were allowed to use our vast domestic energy resources.  Sadly the environmental lobby has control of the Obama admin, and that won't happen until they are gone, and replaced by a conservative.
