That sucks.  Maybe they can come back somehow.

Hopefully.  But at a cost.

We are starting to boil the frog.

(In the US)

More than a quarter million deaths due to medical errors

More than 38,000 motor vehicle deaths

More than 34,000 deaths due to the seasonal flu

More than 28,000 drownings

How many drug overdoses?

200 deaths from being struck by a motor vehicle backing up

COVID-19 projected to have 80,000 to a quarter million deaths

Compare and contrast what is done about these deaths (and who pays for the measures, if any)

Where do you draw the line?

Opioid deaths account for approximately 80,000 deaths a year in the US, with 70% being from illicit means.  And it's a fact that China is the largest producer of opioids and has been supply the underground to get them into the US.

Where's the outrage?   President Trump has addressed this head on, whereas the previous administrations gave it little notice.

Veterans commit suicide at the rate of 7,000+ a year, and no one even blinks an eye.

The third highest cause of death in the US is medical malpractice ranging from 250,000 to 400,000 per year, and except for the lawyers, we hear little about this.

So on another forum (boat related) I'm watching the discussions about why it's important to just let the government trash our constitution so they can "protect us".   It's shocking to see the mindsets.

Then a few more post down, someone writes "Since the marinas are closed, there's been an increase of people breaking into boats and stealing, guess it's easy pickings knowing no one is around".

Unreal.

Jim Acosta is an activist that tries to pass himself off as a journalist.

And when you consider PBS has higher ratings than CNN...............

The American Public is seeing just how vicious and corrupt the Democrats and their Progressives truly are.

This bill shows why we need to clean out congress and the senate, every single one gone, and start over.

We need term limits, and we need to end career politicians.

Spin Zone / The Corona Virus Relief Bill
« on: March 27, 2020, 07:22:39 AM »
This bill should have come through clean, with absolutely no pork added in.   It started as $800 Billion and ended up at $2 trillion.

Here's the real problem, that $2 trillion is misleading.  It's actually much much higher because it's borrowed money.

What would have worked better, IMO, would have been to offer relief on unemployment (not at the level in the bill, which is going to come back to bite them), offer bridge loans to small business, bridge loans to big business.  And then a tax holiday to everyone (under a determined income level) for the rest of 2020, IOW, no more fed tax taken from paychecks till Jan 1, 2021.

That would have supercharged the economy and franky been cheaper in the long run.  Couple that with letting the executive start trimming major fat from gov agencies and shutting down programs that are already unnecessary, and a moratorium on ALL pork spending for 2020.
