Because it generates billions and billions of $$$ in contracts.  The organizations that are awarded these contracts in turn have lobbyist.  Our congressmen and senators get big campaign donations from these companies.

^^^^^This.  I was a consultant to a very large defense contractor in the metro DC area.  All ex Navy, Air Force, and Army guys.  The leadership, all the execs, including the CEO were retired Admirals, and Generals.  They were in bed with every branch, plus the NSA.  Regularly, I'd be in an elevator with one, two, and three star Generals, and Admirals yucking it up with one of the senior execs.  Guess what?  They'd be next in line to go too one of these companies, and repeat the entire process of contract awards.  It is a HUGE business, and we are paying for it.

Of course nobody wants a nuclear war, but I think a few EMP's to show the little snowflakes what it is like to have true adversity, for a few months, to bring things back into perspective would be welcome.  No phones, no lights, no motorcars, not a single luxury, like Robinson Crusoe, as primitive as can be! 

He's in a tough spot for sure.  I do think the mid range goal is to pull out.  Trump, just can't say that.  Of course the generals, and their defense contractor buddies (all former generals, and admirals that lead these companies) want more of the same. 

Saul Alinsky, and Cloward Piven are very accurate depictions of what we are seeing.  The false "Russia" story didn't work.  They didn't have facts, evidence, nor truth on their side.  People got tired of hearing the same old baseless accusations.  So they tie Trump to the Neo Nazis, and KKK because he didn't come out against them fast enough.  All we hear from the media now is how Trump is a RACIST!!! 

There were many economic reasons for the Civil War, only one of which is slavery.  I do believe the Feds wanted to make the South succumb and strike a huge blow to state's rights.  They succeeded.  The statues that are being torn down, and removed are an attempt by the Liberal/Progressives to re-write history, and wield power over those in which they disagree.  This is a statement of POWER over free expression, and power over our history.  We need to fight back.  How?  Keep electing non-establishment candidates. 

My question is why now?  Why remove statues that are over 100 years old in many cases?  I think I know the answer, but would like other's perspective. 

Progressives and particularly academics progressives seem to hate free speech with a passion.

I suspect they are infuriated whenever someone uses facts and truth to toss aside their partisan bullshit, presented as factual.

Progressives only like free speech for what they agree, and just want to shut down, and outlaw what they don't like to hear.  It is very childish, and un-American.
